Glico Pocky Tsubu Tsubu Strawberry Biscuit Sticks

This is what I snacked on while we watched The Hunger Games. Triple the price of the regular one, it comes in three individual packs of about 8 sticks each.

It's selling point is the heart-shaped biscuit stick, which I would not have even noticed had I not taken a detailed look at the back of the box. In fact, I found the shape to be rather poorly defined.

What I liked about the Glico Pocky Tsubu Tsubu Strawberry Biscuit Sticks though, is the sourish and crunchy "strawberry" flakes. The strawberry flavour is sharper than the regular sticks, but not as intense as the Meiji Rich Strawberry Apollo Cocoa.

iLight Marina Bay 2012

The boy and I made a trip to Marina Bay Waterfront last evening, to see what the iLight Marina Bay 2012 festival was all about. It features innovative and environmentally sustainable light art installations along the promenade from Marina Bay Sands to the Merlion.

Garden of Light by Hexogon Solution Singapore is a projection on the facade of the ArtScience Museum telling a story of environmental sustainability and to highlight the beauty of nature. For the half hour we were there, we only saw this static field of flowers though. It seemed like a beautiful wallpaper.

Parmenides 1 by Dev Harlan is supposed to be a hypnotic 3D projection of swirling abstract patterns which create an amazing sense of movement, colour and form. While I stood in the dark for five minutes, I again saw only a static orange ball. Perhaps you'd have the patience to wait longer.

Sweet Home by Aleksandra Stratimirovic is an installation of lampshades which evoke a warm and homely atmosphere in a chaotic, polluted street through the use of light and colour. Is it a coincidence the artist is from Sweden? The moment I saw the installation I told the boy it feels like Ikea.

Key Frames by Groupe LAPS from France, is a display of more than 20 static stick figures made out of LED light tubes that combine with music to create a choreographed display of movement. It isn't surprising then, that I found this installation to be the most interesting and dynamic one, out of the few I saw.

There are supposed to be 31 installations in all, but we only came across 7 of them which were located nearer to Marina Bay Sands. Despite the website promising a night carnival, workshops and talks, it wasn't as bustling as we had expected. It didn't help that most of the installations were underwhelming and the IT Fair and The Bodyshop Sale was happening just across the road at Suntec City.

iLight Marina Bay 2012 is on till 1 April 2012 from 7:30pm to 11pm at the Marina Bay Waterfront. You might want to go down for a romantic after dinner stroll. Perhaps things are more interesting over at the Merlion :)

The Faceshop Arsainte Eco-Therapy Multi-Care Cleansing Foam

When I reviewed The Faceshop's Arsainte Eco-Therapy Tonic With Essential, I mentioned that it's my favourite range from the brand. Not least, because of the mellow grapefruit scent.

The flip-top squeeze tube of Eco-Therapy Multi-Care Cleansing Foam contains 140ml of white creamy cleanser that has a similar scent, and will leave your face soft and really clean, without any tautness. Surprising, considering that a pea sized amount of the cleanser produces more thick foam than most other cleansers.

The unique feature about this cleanser however, is that it can be used as a purifying wash-off mask as well. Just leave it on for 2-3 minutes then rinse it off. I've not tried that though, since I find it a little weird to be using soap as a mask.

Fran Melty Kiss Green Tea Sticks

Given my fondness for green tea and glico pocky, I got myself a box of the Fran Melty Kiss Green Tea Sticks despite it being on the pricey side.

Fran Melty Kiss Green Tea Sticks

I was delighted to find the sticks packaged into three separate servings, and a good thing too, considering how rich in flavour they are.

The taste of green tea is intense, and combined with white chocolate, really creamy.

The stick that it coats is bitter, which is a perfect and welcome contrast.

Meiji Rich Strawberry Apollo Cocoa

I'm not fond of chocolate but I love strawberries.

I decided to get the Meiji Rich Strawberry Apollo Cocoa, when I saw the box stating "strawberry times 5!"

That's five times the intensity of the regular strawberry choco.

I like the really strong strawberry flavour and what are those sour-tasting granules?!

Korean Rice Cake, Tteokbokki (辣炒年糕: 떡볶이)

I've stopped cooking for quite a while due to certain circumstances, but I can't wait to cook up a storm when I shift to a new house next year.

I still had to clear my fridge of any remaining foodstuff though, and the boy got to eat spicy Korean rice cakes with fishcake and cabbage last week!

It's too spicy for him as usual, but I just love a guy who appreciates what I do for him :)

Recipe here.

Naruko Magnolia Brightening and Firming Spray

The Naruko Magnolia Brightening and Firming Spray is a mist that comes in a 120ml plastic spray bottle. The diluted milky solution is dispensed as a moderately fine mist, and can be used on top of makeup. It absorbs well, without leaving behind any stickiness.

It contains Naruko's patented phytoferulin complex, as well as tranexamic acid which has superb whitening properties. One thing I dislike about the spray though, is its pungent scent, probably magnolia, which smells very green, and which I can't seem to get used to.

The box can be crafted into a pen and paperclip holder.
