I had always wanted to try one of these paint-by-numbers kit ever since I spotted them at a Bishan pushcart. There are now several of these pushcarts in various malls but they are expensive! It wasn't until I came across a rather good deal that I decided to take the plunge.
The kits come in various sizes and the one I got measures 40 x 50 cm. It includes a cotton canvas on a wooden frame, a photocopy of the canvas with instructions, a set of paints and 3 paint brushes.
Although the pots of paint are minute, they are enough for you to complete the painting.
This is the painting I got myself. A couple strolling in the rain. I'd like to do that some day.
Well, and that's where all things good about paint-by-numbers end. This is what you get when you follow the boundaries. In fact, I've adjusted it slightly so that it looks better. Compare it with the picture above. It's still terrible.
If you do not have any artistic talent whatsoever, you are not going to get the beautiful picture they promised you on the box. Now excuse me while I go beg around for some.

Dear Chloe,
May I know how much you paid for this?
Thanks!
Jessril,
$19.90 I believe, from one of those vouchers/deals site.
Can share which site? Thanks!
SummerKnit,
I don't remember unfortunately as it was some time ago. I'm not sure if the deal is still on. Do a google on paint-by-numbers Singapore $19.90 or something like that. Or you could ask at the shop #03-25 in Plaza Singapura. I bought it from them but not through them.
Oh thank you so much (: I didn't know they sell at PS! Will go check it out.
Hi, i happened to chance upon your blog and saw your painting. I'm doing one currently, also 40 x 50. The colour may not look as vibrant as the pic's but the overall effect still looks good. I encourage you to finish the your painting. It looks good!
Lim.Teh.Here,
Haha, how did you know I left it uncompleted? Thanks for the encouragement. I hope the paints have not dried up though.
