Trip to Sentosa 2010 (Lights of Spring Festival, Resort World)

We drove in to Sentosa since it is cheaper to drive in after 7pm then to take the Sentosa Express. I was so happy to see the castle! I miss Universal Studios Osaka, and to have one in my very own country is just kind of surreal! Though I've checked out the rides they have and nothing much interests me. It's either too thrilling for my liking or boring kiddy rides. I wish they have something in between, especially Spiderman which was awesome.

The Merlion is sooo beautiful today though it looks incredibly fierce. Colorful lasers project a myraid of patterns on it throughout the night.

The Lights of Spring Festival was a disappointment. Unlike the Flower Festival in previous years, nice pictures can hardly be taken of this event. Everything is so dark it makes you wonder if they named the event correctly.

The 10 Rings of Enchantment representing Happiness, Health, Abundance, Love, Harmony, Togetherness, Wealth, Longevity, Knowledge and Peace.

Many people were taking photos at The Ring of Togetherness, which looks like the symbol for infinity as well as the number 8, which represents luck.

You could also, for $2, buy a card to write your New Year wishes on and hang them on the Tree of Life, a universal symbol in many cultures and traditions representing Rebirth.

And if you continue to walk to where the dragon trail used to be, there is a path and a bridge to Resorts World, where the hotels, casino and Universal Studios are.

Though all the tickets for the preview of Universal Studios had been snapped up, Hersheys Chocolate World was open and we grabbed a couple of Reese's. I love peanut butter!

We stood for a while and pouted at the throngs of foreigners who were going into the casino for free before heading to one of the hotels to grab a drink. We thought that there would be a Hard Rock Cafe within the Hard Rock Hotel but we were wrong! The place has absolutely no atmosphere. The lobby lounge was more lobby than lounge, and the makan place was at best a canteen. Big disappointment! Needless to say we headed off to some other more pleasant place to chill for the night.
