Although I have been to Japan five times, I had never seen an Afternoon Tea cafe there. I came to know of the existence of this pretty little lifestyle and homeware brand when I came across their mook at Kinokuniya one day. Once I found out that there is branch in Taipei, I had to pay them a visit .
The little shop outside the cafe sells everything from stationery to home decor, from fashion accessories to cutlery.
A very simple yet elegant and cosy interior.
Both of us ordered a set meal each, which comes with soup and tea. Prices of the food items are on average, 35% cheaper in Taipei than in Japan.
The chicken and mushroom soup was delicious, and nothing can go wrong with bread and a sinful pat of butter to accompany it :)
My saffron rice with seafood was fragrant and full of flavour.
The rice is packed with asari clams!
The boy had a tomato pasta with garlic-baked shrimp.
The highlight of this meal though, was my Sweet Fruits Tea. It's more of a warm fruit juice with slices of fruit, than a traditional tea. At NT160, I would not hesitate to have this everyday instead of Starbucks, if only they have it here.
I can't say the same for the boy's Dried Fruit and Herb Tea, which tasted like traditional rose hip tea, in one word, sour!
You can see Afternoon Tea on the second floor of Sogo, which is just outside exit 4 of the Zhongxiao Fuxing Station.
